Structure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regulation No. 404\/2023, of December 5th, approved the Statutes of the Lisbon and Tejo Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission, Public Institute (CCDR LVT, I.P.), establishing its internal organization, and Deliberation No. 133\/2024, of January 26th, created the fl exible units and defi ned their responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

President:<\/strong> Elected by an electoral college (composed of mayors, presidents of municipal assemblies, city councilors, municipal deputies, and parish council presidents).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 Vice-Presidents:<\/strong> One elected by the mayors; one elected by the members of the Regional Council; the remaining two co-opted by the members of the Executive Board. As a result, there is no longer a Vice-President appointed by the Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multilevel governance:<\/strong> On December 6th, a program contract was signed between the Prime Minister and the CCDR Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, I.P.<\/strong> (Lisbon and Tejo Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission, P.I.) which constitutes a true instrument of multilevel governance that defi nes the contribution of the regions to national policy objectives and enabling the alignment between national public policy measures and their implementation at regional level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multi-level governance bodies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Territorial Coordination Council:<\/strong> A political body that promotes consultation and coordination between the Government and the various regional and sub-regional political entities, at regional, sub-regional, and local levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intersectoral Coordination Council:<\/strong> The body that promotes the technical coordination of the implementation and monitoring of sectorial policies in the areas of regional development, environment, cities, economy, culture, education, territorial planning, nature conservation, agriculture and fi sheries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Integration:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For CCDR Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, I.P.<\/strong> (Lisbon and Tejo Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission, P.I.)\u2019s new mission of implementing cross-cutting policies in its territory, responsibilities were transferred from government areas of environment, economy, culture, education, territorial planning and fi sheries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
