A Tree Planted to Launch NOVA’s Medical School Campus, First Stone

On October 12, in Carcavelos, the first stone was laid for the headquarters of AHED – Advanced Health Education. The ceremony, which symbolically included the planting of a tree on the site, was attended by Elvira Fortunato, Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Pizarro, Minister of Health, Carlos Carreiras, Mayor of Cascais, João Sàágua, Rector of NOVA, Helena Canhão, Director of NOVA Medical School, and representatives of the founding institutions of AHED – Santa Casa da Mercy of Lisbon, CUF and the National Association of Pharmacies.

With around 50 courses, with a strong practical content, in the most varied areas, using new techniques and technologies, AHED will enable doctors and health professionals to update their knowledge throughout their lives, filling a gap that exists in Portugal and in Europe.
