International Cooperation for the Atlantic | CCDR LVT organizes na interactive session to listen to the territorial actors

CCDR LVT organized on the 15th an interactive consultation session with territorial actors (stakeholders) to discuss the priorities to be considered in a framework of cooperation in the European Atlantic Area. The session was opened by the President, Teresa Almeida, who drew attention to the importance of this issue for the country given its Atlantic vocation, in line with the Region’s Strategy such as RIS3 (Regional Strategy for Intelligent Specialization of Lisbon), envisaged to the 2030 horizon and for Europe, given that within the framework of the CAA agenda (in which Lisbon assumes its Vice Presidency) these priorities are taking place in the respective regions.

This was followed by interventions by the Executive Secretary Atlantic Arc Commission (AAC), Elise Wattrelot, who spoke about her role, ongoing projects and the importance the involvement of stakeholders to overcome the current challenges faced on a European scale; from the General Director of the Sea Policy, Marisa Silva, with an approach to the Atlantic Strategy, whose Presidency in 2023 is exercised by Portugal and from the Secretary General of the Forum of the Sea, Ruben Eiras, who focused on the opportunities of the Blue Economy, the Blue Hub and the importance of cooperation networks for the success of investments.

Personalities from research/university areas were invited to the debate; business associations; public entities/organisations; entrepreneurship/startups; digital, green and energy transition experts; SMEs and large companies; consultants. The topics addressed were organized into energy/mobility/accessibility/transport and communications; food systems/health and biotechnology; territory/cities/tourism and cohesion; environment/climate change and biodiversity.

The interest and commitment of those present were the strong mark left by this collaborative morning, which will continue throughout the year with new work sessions increasing connectivity between the Administration, the territory and its actors.
